Executive summary

This report documents examples showing cypress sapwood timber to have resistance to household borer, both in internal applications and those protected from weather but exposed to exterior or ground atmosphere.

Among timber users cypress sapwood is well known for resisting attack by house borer in New Zealand.

This report documents some examples where cypress sapwood is in service in internal situations without any sign of borer. The situation in the house, the length of time the timber as been in service and the region are all documented, along with the name of the person and contact details. These examples can be verified by contacting the individuals who have supplied the information.
